End of Life Palliative Care

Though there are many institutions in Vrindavan we are bridging the gap of need for shelter and care for the elderly widows and destitute women to take care of them during their critical last years of life palliative and medical care. A personal medical and personal care scheduled is developed including monitoring and treatment for chronic conditions, daily personal care, and hygiene with the help of a medical doctor and care takers.

Bed-side Care

We reach out to the most needy ‘destitute, elderly single women and widows’ who do not have any social support and are abandoned. These destitute and elderly are spending their last years of their life in utmost difficult situations, without any place to live, physically frail and disabled and many of them bedridden without any caregivers. Trained caretakers provide round-the-clock care to the bed ridden Matas and assist them with personal and medical care.

Active Ageing

At the Care Home the trust provides an environment that is conducive for the younger and physically able women to engage in housekeeping, cooking, serving food and taking care of ill, and the bed ridden. In addition, physical exercises, yoga, and other activities such as gardening, singing, group games (such as ludo, snake and ladder, etc.) are organized to provide the Matas an opportunity to engage them physically, mentally and emotionally. Thereby enabling them to live an active life.

Shelter, Food & Care

The trust has been providing shelter to homeless, destitute elderly in a care-home setting and provides nutritious meals, personal and bed-side care by care-takers, and periodic medical examination and treatment by doctors. Most of the elderly improve their physical condition and are able to soon live an active life because of these facilities and are able to devote much of their time in devotional activities.

Spiritual Upliftment

The daily routine at the Ashram includes individual prayers and pooja (Thakur Seva), devotional group chanting (Kirtan), singing and study of scriptures and holy books. These spiritual practices integrated with daily living helps the Matas to live a life in devotion and dedicated to the spiritual values. Nutritious meals are cooked and served as Prasad for all the residents.

Care Home, Temple & GauSeva Project

The Trust, with the support from donors is planning to buy land and construct an integrated facility that will have Care Home, Temple and GauSeva. This will be possible only with the kind and generous support from all of you. The facility will be able to have more needy Matas and Guest facilities for visiting devotees, sevaks and donors.

Outreach & Home Visits

Hundreds of elderly single women are living a lonely life in their own small dwellings and are struggling to pay rent, buy daily food and has no one to take care of them when they get sick. The trust team has identified such old and needy elderly and visits them periodically in their own dwellings (home visits) to provide psychosocial support, supply of dry food, vegetables, milk, and medical care to them. We intend to develop a more comprehensive and a cost-effective home-based care and support for such elderly. This model of care will be more sustainable in the long-term.
